The goal of any communication is to influence behavior. This ablity depends upon the quality of the relationship. More than ever before, communication offers a competitive advantage. The more complex the environment becomes, the greater the need for effective communication wtih all stakeholders.

The ability to communicate and build relationships allows an organization to adapt quickly to change and is critical to any organization's success. This ability is influenced by an organization's values, management style and culture, as well as the structure and flow of information within and beyond the organization. Communication programs often suffer from strategy alignment issues, from poor sponsorship, and from incongruent messaging.
