The genesis of Mindshift Consulting was a belief that organizations can create environments that nurture personal and professional development. That organizations can be places where people want to be and want to contribute, places where people discover their potential as they help their organization to achieve its own. Our purpose is to create environments where people thrive and organizations prosper. It is our belief that one makes the other possible and that both need to be in balance. We see great potential in the human side of management, which has the capacity to unleash an organization's true potential.

At Mindshift, we believe there is significant value in capturing an organization's learning and applying this knowledge and experience to current development activities. Our practice is based in an understanding of living systems within the context of human and organizational behavior. We view organizations as patterns of relationships and activities around leadership, purpose, strategy, structure and other organizational elements. We bring our creative brand of discipline to the task of building organizational excellence.

More often than not, organizations operate well below their potential. One reason is a failure to understand the human side of management. Another is that the values and culture of an organization are not aligned with management behavior and strategic intent. Others include process problems and technology issues. At Mindshift Consulting we work with clients to build collaborative work environments, develop leadership, and shape organizational strategy. We position organizations for leadership and empower cultures.

When an organization sees itself as a living system, its nature and purpose change. Learning becomes an intrinsic behavior; the system learns to seek out relationships that enhance its chances for survival. The change in energy and focus is astonishing and visible. It's an environment where people are excited and energized, where what they need to do is clear, and where the tools to get it done are accessible.

It's a culture where people feel free to create and explore around a shared vision, and where people feel positive about themselves and empowered in their work. The alternative is an atmosphere where employees feel threatened and used, and where work is something employees tolerate. It's easy to guess which culture is more productive and competitive.
